I’ve completed the third week of my “couch to 5k” program, and so far have been able to keep up with it. Assuming I don’t get off track, this puts me a third of the way through it now, since the full program is nine weeks long. However, next week gets significantly harder, so I may end up repeating this week again. Which would be fine, as I can already see a difference in my fitness after only three weeks. I’ve been tracking my heart rate with an oximeter, which also tells me my o2 level. That has been interesting to watch. On the first day, my o2 bottomed out at 92%; yesterday, exercising to the same heart rate, it never got lower than 95%. One of the few advantages to being out of shape is that you do get to see changes faster!
Congrats on making it through the third week. Keep it up! =)
Way to go with sticking with the plan. If you are worried about week 4, just redo week3, as long as you aren’t too pressed for time with the plan. Then, week 4 will be no big deal. Keep up the great work.
Happy running,
Rundad
Thanks for the encouragement! I will definitely keep going, at whatever pace I can.
You can do it! I’m having to do the same this again faced with loosing the same amount of weight I lost before my last baby was born.
Discouraging, isn’t it? Men have it so easy – they just have to maintain. We have to go through this cycle of gaining and (hopefully!) losing with each baby. I actually have more to lose this time than I did last time.
