The washer and dryer have finally arrived!

I never thought I would be so glad to be able to do laundry, but after waiting almost two weeks, there was practically a mountain waiting, despite our giving in and doing four loads at the laundromat.
The kids found the front-loading machine fascinating to watch in action.

Laundry Routine

The seasonal shift has led to a new laundry routine around here.  It goes roughly as follows:
7:00-7:30 Kids collect and bring to the laundry room all the dirty laundry.
7:30-9:30 I wash (or to be precise:  my washing machine washes) one or two loads of laundry.
9:30 or so  We hang laundry outside.
